So this is my first post... I realize that we should have posted a much longer time ago but I quite honestly didn't find anything to write about that was worth posting on a math blog. Now that I have realized that my grade may suffer as a direct result of this blog, I have decided to argue for my grade:
1. I don't believe that this blog is a reflection of my ability in math. While I can see how this blog may be useful to those who have math questions or insights I don't think that we should be graded on that because if anything this blog is merely a reflection of my abilty to write as opposed to doing math.
2. As a technicality, Mr. Flint did say he would post prompts on his own blog for those of us without the "divine inspiration " to write anything. As a result of these lack of prompts I did not feel the need to post on my blog.
3. Mr.Flint has been an excellent teacher this first marking period which has rendered me question-less and thus this blog blank. Also the few questions I have had were too simple to be posted on this blog. That is to say that the couple of questions I have asked required fast answers that friends on AIM or over the phone could provide
4 finally if you disagree with everything I have written so far, realize that this very posting ought to have completed the assignment you gave us and that I took the time to write it (which should be proof of my care of mathematics).
In conclusion I just want to state that any negative tone in this post was not purposeful and that I did not mean to insult anyone especially not Mr.Flint. This post is purely an attempt to protect my grade from unnecessary harm.
Arjuna, no problem at all. I was only grading based on your having set up the blog at this point. You are very correct that I need to give much more direction and feedback. We will discuss this more in class next week. In any event, the blog is not meant to be an opportunity for me to "harm" your grade :) I believe when we get going with it, you will find it a beneficial tool and an opportunity for me to give you easy participation points.
